What's up at The Busy Needle?
It's been a hectic spring.
I had total knee replacement surgury on my left knee March 1. We had planned it for about now but due to circumstances
beyond my control it had to be done earlier than planned. I am healed and walking better than I have in years after
recovery and 6 weeks of PT. The Dr. said I was throwing the curve on the average age of surgery but it was bone on bone
and definately time.
While I was gone, Mary (Ozark Sampler) did a total reorganization and clean up at the shop.
It's looking fresh and colorful. She brought the fibers back into the front room so we have that WOW look at all the
color back and we've set up a new classroom/frame/notions area where the fibers formally lived. I also bought up a slew
of hand-dyed fabrics from a store getting out of cross stitch so we are well stocked with choices. We invested in a
color ring of Threadwrx 5yd cottons and I'm currently deciding what colors will make a permanent stay and WHERE I'm going
to put them. We're slowly reorganizing the fibers--alphabatizing rather than displaying in color order, etc. All
in all there's been a lot of changes going on around her.
We recently sponsored a Girls Weekend to Tulsa.
We had a ball shopping, stitching and visiting. We got a chance to check out several needlework stores while there which
was a lot of fun.
We're currently deep into planning mode for our Annual Camp Stitch (in July). We're doing
an Americana theme for this years projects. I'm in the midst of writing the next edition of our snail mail Newsletter
and this past weekend was our towns annual Spring Craft Shows which draw visitors from across the country. Somehow the
summer just flys by around here.
More soon.
